See the <a href=\"\/assessment\/planning\/#plan\">UCORE Assessment Plan<\/a> below.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assessment planning is faculty led.<\/strong> UCORE general education \u2014 and its assessment \u2014 are overseen by the UCORE Director and <a href=\"\/governance\/committees\/\">UCORE Committee<\/a>, with support from the Provost\u2019s Office. In 2016, UCORE established a <a href=\"\/assessment\/about\/committee\/\">Subcommittee for Assessment<\/a> to handle the growing evidence from new programs and initiatives, and clarify priorities for UCORE Assessment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wsu-spacing-after--small\"><strong>Assessment planning includes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"mw--80ch\">\n<li>Collecting assessment data on student learning in the context of the UCORE curriculum \u2014 using a mix of direct and indirect measures \u2014 in order to recognize strengths and recommend improvements in curriculum, pedagogy, faculty development, policies, or other decisions intended to support learning in the general education curriculum and courses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting and improving meaningful and sustainable assessment processes for the UCORE general education curriculum, courses, and related support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Approach<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>WSU\u2019s UCORE general education\u2014and its assessment\u2014is designed to complement and integrate with curricula, courses, and instruction in the departments and academic programs. WSU\u2019s system for meaningful and sustainable assessment in general education is designed to implement in our local context good practices identified by Dr. Barbara Walvoord and other
