Assessment Resources

Assessment resources encompass information or training provided to faculty and staff to help them understand, develop, implement, communicate, and use evidence of student learning.

The table below shows a variety of resources that support WSU faculty assessing the learning outcomes of the UCORE general education program (and the associated WSU Undergraduate Learning Goals).

UCORE Committee

The UCORE Committee includes its Subcommittee for Assessment, and includes faculty and key administrative professionals under the Provost’s area.

Office of Assessment for Curricular Effectiveness (ACE)

Assists with planning and supporting general education assessment, analyzing data and reporting/preparing results for discussion. Manages UCORE assessment archives.

Writing Program

The Writing Program provides training and consults with faculty and programs to promote and assess student learning in written communication.

Libraries

WSU Libraries provides training and consults with faculty and programs to promote and assess student learning in information literacy.

Office of Institutional Research (IR)

Provides centrally collected data which contributes to assessment, including NSSE results, academic performance and persistence, retention and graduation rates, and student demographic information.
